Elegance In Design Philosophy.

Designing a fabulous room is a combination of many things; form, function, lovely lines, captivating colour and interesting textures. This comes from listening and understanding what your clients want, while at the same time making sure the end product is one which suits their needs perfectly. But, there is a practical side to design which I believe is often overlooked, and that’s the idea of healthy interiors.

The Indoor Life.

Whether it’s at work or home, Canadians spend as much as 90 percent of their time indoors. Mold, carpets, various paints and finishes, pesticides, pressed wood and chemicals like artificially scented candles and air fresheners all contribute to indoor air pollution. So why should you be concerned? Because all of these things can impact your health, especially those at increased risk, such as children or people with breathing issues or immune problems.

Why You Should Care!

Some people argue, why bother trying to correct these in our homes, when there are so many bad things throughout our environment? But that’s exactly why our company believes that sound design choices can be used to make a difference. You can’t control everything that happens in the world, but you can control your immediate environment and greatly improve it. And the spinoff of these measures is that what’s better for you…is often better for the planet too. Good design doesn’t have to come at the expense of being good for you.

Make Interiors Exceptional.

I am a certified Interior Decorator after completing the program at Mohawk College. I have decorated homes as well as rental properties, and also offer a shopping service for clients where I visit various showrooms to help them save time and focus on the right choices for their home.
I also have nearly twenty years of visual experience in the field of TV journalism and am now successfully putting those skills to work in the field of design. When you think about it, good TV news stories and good decorating have many things in common. First, achieving balance, flow and harmony… and then bringing all of these elements together effectively in one place. That’s why some of my TV work will now include reporting on what’s new in the world of Interior Design. Of course, keeping up on the latest trends also makes me a better decorator.
